Our Story

From a home kitchen passion to Eastern Kentucky's most beloved bakery brand — this is the Sweet Oaks journey.

Founder & CEO

Lydia Johnson

In a small town in Eastern Kentucky, a simple passion for baking turned into something far greater. What began in a home kitchen has grown into one of the region's most beloved bakery brands, Sweet Oaks.

At just 24 years old, entrepreneur and CEO Lydia Johnson has built Sweet Oaks into a thriving business with three successful locations, each known for fresh baked goods, handcrafted drinks, and a welcoming atmosphere that keeps customers coming back.

What started as a personal love for creating homemade desserts quickly evolved into a vision for something bigger — a place where great food and community could come together.

The Paintsville location brings that vision fully to life. While parents enjoy handcrafted coffee and freshly baked pastries, children can explore and play safely in the indoor play space — creating a unique environment where families can relax, connect, and spend time together.
